Can't do a 3.3L HPDI, they are just too heavy for my boat. I will ONLY be able to swing the 3.1L Because Hydro-Tec can lighten them up and shorten the mid down , even then it will be unchartered territory on a XB2002...
I am actually torn between which direction to go.. 2.6L 200 HPDI or 3.1L 250 Ox66.

Don't know much in this area, but I would stick with what you know works. That's a lot green to lay down for something that you're not sure of.

Remington I also know he could save some weight and get rid of the grey......AND REPLACE IT WITH BLACK...That alone will make it faster............

Not so sure, I had a drystacked 2.4L 200 Merc on before my Yamaha 2.6. They actually were very close in weight. That Yamaha would smoke the merc in the mid-range all the way to the top until the TRP's drag was too much.

Thanks Guys,
AS for the Hydro-Tec stuff, thats who built my current Yamaha
(2.6L 200 Vmax Carb, Phase II kit and TRP Lower-unit with twin 27's).
I am VERY familiar with them and have been the thier shop more times than I can remember. I consider Wayne, Nathan and Matt friends. They WILL get my business again for my next motor.
Never have been on Ebay, I might have to try that

There is a big ol hole in the left side of the block where a rod decided to exit. I will most likely save what parts I can if I get a 200 HPDI and part the rest out.

We have a Skeeter/Yamaha dealer here where I brought my SHO for the 20 hour service. A salesman was telling me they can't sell a boat with a HPDI on the back.

I don't know why they couldn't unless they are priced too high...
