Anyone got any suggestions for largemouth this time of year in the mountains of NC? Going up soon and was wondering what they were biting on this time of year.

Curious. I don't know how my previous reply became its own thread.
Anyway, did you have any particular lake in mind? Fontana, James, Thorpe, etc?

A small pond near where I stay up there and maybe lake Glenville.

They're a little late moving up out of deep water this year but if you can find them shallow, a Rebel Humpback in silver/black usually works for me in October. I've got one that hardly has any paint left that still catches fish. Works early, late and after dark. Work it straight out from the bank, especially rocky structure. During the day I like a 1/2 - 3/4 oz. white/chartreuse spinnerbait around woody cover, unless it's cloudy. In that case I'll try a shad color or black.
If you need to go deeper try a watermelon or olive-colored lizard or creature bait, Carolina rigged.
Good luck!

Thanks for the info. It will be nice to fish in some cooler weather. Getting the waders packed for some of the delayed harvest trout as well. I like waking up in the morning where the biggest decision I have to make is trout or bass.:party0045:
