St Jude Tournament!

A friend of mine, who has participated in St Jude benefits before is wanting to start a St Jude Bass Tournament down here on the coast and asked me to help.

They have one of these in north mississippi at Sardis and has done really well since it began. I am actually looking forward to it because its for a great cause but I would love to hear some ideas.

We want a good turnout but we want to raise a lot of money too so give me all your ideas on this please. We are looking at March 2011.

You are right my friend. My brother fished the one at Sardis several times. It's big 2 do there each year. I've never fished it yet, but might think about trying it one day.

Yeah and we want to make it a hit down here and we have already talked to several clubs and they all said they would fish. We just want to make the first year really good so it will continue and become an annual EVENT not just "some benefit tourney". So, we have to get it right the first try, things like this fail really easy if you don't give it your all.

i have fished it many time back 20 years ago
its a big turney ... 300 boats

sardis used to/ still might have a 2 day big fish turney that was big also

might be something for you to think about
weigh in as many as you want through the two days
you know catch one go weigh it then back fishin to catch a bigger one

we were thinking of making it a 2 day tournament:

day one at the Pascagoula River
Day two on back bay which is not far from pascagoua

Maybe not the first year but at some point.
