Had to go out and try my two new recirulating pumps, yup they work.
While out had a chance to toss some baits, frogs no go flukes halfway to the boat. Then all of a sudden, with another bach of acutal rain (sprinkles) they started to hit,two keepers on a horney toad.bam bam, lost a good 4 der halway in but then again was just testing pumps.
Heres where I tested http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp228/lilmule12002/Picture-1.jpg
Had a heck of a time keeping off that point and flat, but fish were hitting right at the break.
Two osprey did as well as I getting a fish ea,actually diving into the water and disapearing

Dang, when were you out there? I went out from 3:00 to 6:00 today. Caught five dinks, two Tennessee Racers and lost a slob at the side of the boat. It was bigger than the six pounder I caught during pre-fishing. Exactly how big? I can't say, but it was a LOT bigger than the six!

I had a club T on Saturday out of Pebble Isle. I went up Friday and pre-fished (launched at Lucas). I wasn't lookin for dinks but I fished shallow & deep alike. Caught a 6#12oz in a brushpile in 4ft of water about 50yds off shore in one creek. She hit a brush hog on the 2nd or 3rd cast into that top. I had blazed a 1/2oz Rocket Shad spinnerbait by that same pile about half a dozen times before without a hit. I just KNEW a fish was in there, to many shad and small fish busting all around with deep water nearby and plenty of crappie mats around as well.

Went back too that pile first thing at blastoff Saturday morning and yanked a 14 3/4"er out of it! :wallbash: Wasted time fishing the crappie mats, didn't get a bass out of the mats all day. But stumps, logs, tops etc held fish. I did catch a 4# 13oz from a stump going into the coal plant inlet. Partner caught a 16 sumpin incher on grass below the 70 bridge. With that terrible creel we took 2nd!!! Folks just couldn't put keepers in the boat.

I've never missed so many hooksets and lost so many fish with plastics as I did that day. The fish sure didn't want anything aggressively. There were boats EVERYWHERE and the usual places were being HAMMERED so I didn't even bother with them (Birdsong creek was LINED with boats from front to back, stayed back there 10 minutes and left!)

There was a bigger tourney at Pebble Isle as well and it only took 18#s to win it (ledge fish). Everyone agreed the fish just are gorged with the shad and aren't aggressive.

Oh well, beats a day at the office!!!

The last couple times I've been out, either with Lil Mule or by myself, I thought the fish were hitting wierd! I can't remember the last time I lost or missed that many fish!

Give me a shout the next time you're going out pre-fishing if you'd like company.
