I just found out about this new crankbait. It sounds like a winner. Has anybody tried this yet. I think I'll get one and see how it works.

Didn't Bagley or someone else have a weighted lip crankbait years ago?

I know I've seen something similar before. Danged old age....

I just ordered one of each color. They should work great on the deep canyon reservoirs we have here in So. Cal. I'll ket you all know after I get them.

Let me know how they cast. Just thinking of how it's designed with that heavy lip it looks to me like casting would be a real issue. Most crankbaits - tail first on the cast. When the diving lip gets in the lead that's when it flutters n' stalls n' backlashes... I kinna see that one as trying to fly lip first and causing "issues".

I'll let you know. I'm interested in the rotating hooks.

yeah, I saw that in the ad as well. They must have sampo swivels(or something like them) embedded where threaded hook eyes are the norm.

Rebel Mini R back in the 80s had a round (big assed bb looking weight) near the bottom of the bill...seemed like it would get mud hung in it or mine did anyway..course that would mean it was in contact,or you was shallow as heck..the bait was about the same size as the Maxi R but was called mini..Guess if it had to dwarf the weeR had to call it sumtin.

100ft??? :drunk:

WOW that would feel like pullin a milk bucket thru the water.

Bagley had the old "Bagley Dredge" back years ago (was just a weighted DB3) but they went away before anyone every gave em a shot.

I'm kinda curious if this bait will do as it says, "Run it down to the desired depth and then crank it in and it'll stay in that range". I'm not sure how that works but if it would run 20-30ft steadily without breaking your arm it would hafta work on the ledge fish here on the TN River during the summer months.

LOL this weekend I dug out an old tackle box in the garage that I thought was empty. It had several old lures in it including two old 30+ Manns cranks. Sheesh those things would bog a bow winch, they have lips like a surf board. Next summer I'll hafta slang em on my 7ft cranker with the Lews crankin reel over the ledges and see what happens.

DO report how they work for ya bonsai, ;)
