Ok folks to get the ball rolling here in the new lLaser forum "SHOW US YOUR RIDE".......I personally think they are a fine boat ...LOL I should I am restoring one. A 16ftr that was in need of a floor transom and stringers.......work has been slow on the baby but eventually she will shine through.
Plans are or where...had to sell the first motor....had a 2.5 that had been dynoed at 265 at the prop shaft.....oh well "the best plans of mice and men"
Another motor will have to be built for her.

Guess I might as well move my pics over here. First time I've seen a "Laser Boats" catagory.

Motors, props are changed almost as often as changin' socks...........

Hello to all. I recently purchased a 16' Laser. This is my first boat and had some questions. The boat is very solid, was kept in covered storage when not in use. The carpet and seats are in great condition. I will post a pic soon. It has a Johnson SPL 112 on it and I believe it to be the original engine. Am I correct in that assumption? I've had it on the water once (bought it late last summer). Someone has put a stainless steel 23 degree prop on it. It was slow out of the water but once on top it easily reached 45 mph. The engine ran very strong and didn't miss a beat. Were the SPL class engines reliable? Everything works on the boat including the gages. I gave 3000.00 for the boat and trailor. What are these boats worth in excellant condition? Can't wait to get it out on the water this spring!!
