OK. Since the line thread went over so well, let's try another topic that I'm interested in. What kind of worm hooks do you use. I used to use the Eagle Claw offsets, but kept having problems with the fish coming off after two hard sets. Now I'm using bass pro shops magnum offset. Give me some ideas folks.

I have never liked the way worms rig up on 'worm hooks' so I've stayed w/ wide gap hooks, makes my tackle box less complex, use the Falcon special hook/sinker box and ALL my soft plax except some shakey and swim hooks are there by size
as for brand, i use eagles, gammies, and BPS, I like the gammies best, but like the BPS bulk pricing so got an assortment of brands mixed in

OK.....Gamakatsu for most of my worm hooks....The offset shank EWG for fat bodied worms....the regular offset shank for standard(U Tail) to thinner worms....If I am fishing an area with no cover and a hard bottom I will sometimes use a straight wire hook....The sizes are from 2/0 thru 4/0........ 5/0 (for big worms)

owner has a wide gap worm hook with a plastic keeper on it to prevent the bait from sliding down the hook.after awhile the keeper slides down the shank so i put a little piece of heat shrink on it. the hooks stay sharp for awhile.

I have always used gamakatsu ewgs for everything. but reasonly i have started to try other stuff and I really am starting to like the owners. The owner straight shanks seem like they have a good hook up.

I mainly use EWG hooks for ALL of my plastics fishing. I am a big fan of the Gammy's but yes they are somewhat expensive. I cant wait to test out the new hooks I got recently from a friend. I strongly beleive that the EWG is the best hook to use in as many situations as possible except for the finesse applications. One hook that I have been having VERY good success with as long as I aint trying to drag one outta the slop is the Matzuo wide gap hooks. They are a lighter wire hook but they hook up VERY WELL.
