Are you selling this boat? I think I saw it on Scream&Fly post a while back.

Correct Kona...........I was looking around and seen this. This isnt the first LTV or for that matter the first Laser ole Big has redone. Damn I wish I had the resources that man has. His last one that he restored was a Laser LTV with a 150. Right now I am looking for the same hull. I had the boat in my yard and was doing some motor work and the sob picked it up LATE as in midnight one night..........anyways different story. The 19ftr with a 200 or a 225 is another one of those boats that I would give my left @@@ to have. I havent seen many of the LE's latley.......I now they are around........lots of the 18ftr's

In fact here is a couple of pics of the last boat Big redone

Got it late one nite huh, What a stand up guy. That is the reason I put all boats in the shop at nite or put a lock on them until I get payed.

Alley I dont know if he still has it or not........Just one SHARP boat and wanted to let some folks know that you aint gotta drive a bullet or an alley to get the big numbers

The only thing I have against the LTV's is when fishing they can be a real bugger ifn ya hang up on a stump.

Yes Kona and this was a so called friend that did that to me. Brought the boat to me..........told me I aint got much money can ya help me out.........tore into the motor and fixed the bad piston and put her back together......fired it up on muffs and called him told him all I had to do was put the cowling back on and would finish in the morning..........I was VERY surprised when I got up the next am to find the boat gone.....called the cops and TRIED to call him............I eventually found out that he had gotten the boat and I have yet to be able to find him.......Oh well BIG lesson learned............CHAIN THEM SUCKA's up....that way they cant run off before settling up.

Hey boater..........is there a Laser owners website??????????? I havent found one.........I have found forums dedicated to Laser's.......You and I as well as several others know what these boats are capable of. AND the more I dig around the more I find hidden in someones garage or in the middle of restoring. Just my mind wandering but wouldnt it be neat to dedicate a site to the Laser's and start having rally's once a year.........:balloon::icon_party:

By the way didnt you have a 2.0 on your old one???????? I picked up one or I should say my boys got me one for the Laser last week. Blew my mind.

A good 175 or 150 XR-2 2.0L will run if ya know how to build it and they run with verry little money droped into them.
I am building a 2.0L 175 now!

Yes it would there is still quite a following ,.They are so suimular to NorrisCraft in thatr they was not many at all built In fact I did call them some years back and they offered to build me one.All I needed to do was bring my trailer down and they would set it on there when done. And Yes I had a 2.0 liter 150 that a well known engine builder put a power head together for me and when all was said and done it was putting out about 185 hp. I had a 26 Hoss Triton prop that seemed to do me well.

Very nice boat. I have learned one thing on this forum. If I ever need to have anything done to my boat or motor, I will check with the BBM guys first. And yes, I bring my money when I bring the problem. This is no chance of me gettting shot at for any crap like that. Good info.

When I bought my first Laser in 1984, I drove one of the LTV's. The speed was unbeleivable at that time, I thought. When a gust caught the hull and lifted me, t6hat made me nurvous. I bought the V hull.

I just bought my first bass boat! It is 84 Laser bass boat it a hair shy if 18 ft with a 175 merc black Max! I think the Hull is a modified v Hull! Anyone know how to figure out what model it is? I don't know much about boats so any help would be great! I took out last weekend motor runs great! Not sure how fast she was going speedometer don't work! It didn't seem like it was going as fast as it should for a boat that only wieghs a lil over 1000 lbs with a 175 merc on the back!

Look on tha title. It sounds like it's 17' 10" which will be either a 2500 or a LTV. Tha LTV is tha Mod-VP bottom . Tha 2500 is a V bottom and also called an 18 footer.............If its not on tha title tha Mod-VP will have a center pad and sponson lookin' things on each side (lookin' at tha rear). Better known as "trainin' wheels" ;)

It must be LTV then cause it has the center pad thing that is like a v bottom then has a smaller vee on the bottom! Thanks alley! And measures out to be pretty darn close to 17'10"! Is the LTV a good Hull? I have read that they are all Kevlar hulls is that true? Sorry for all the ? I just knew to boats and would like to learn as much as I can! Thanks guys!

There is a blue 88 model in Huntsville a guy has been trying to sell for what seems like 6-8 months, the last time I spoke with him he'd decided to pull it off of craigslist because he was getting to many crackpots just wanting test rides, lurking & not buying.

The boat presently has a fairly fresh built 150 bridgeport on it & runs in the low 80's.
He's only asking $2500 for it but it does need restored.

First, ALL Laser ltv's are 18 footers (probably 17' 10 or 11" if I remember right).

Second, you can't put carbs on an Opti.

Third, Could be wrong here but don't think so. The only 60 over piston I know of for a V6 merc is tha 2.0 liter (135, 150, 175 hp). 135/150 would be '77/'78 ta '91. Tha 175 would be a first generation block '76 ta '81 only.

Forth, 60 over "anything" is way to big unless you really know how to tune it and what/how its gonna be used. They will run hot and/or lean if you don't know how to compensate.

If you can,get some pictures of the clamp, trim and the powerhead (both sides, front and back). If this is what tha owner is telling you you need to question his information about this motor. Tha clamp and trim looks ta be a three ram which would be '85 or newer best I can tell in that picture.

Not tryin' to ta be tha bad guy here but it needs to be questioned and answered before ya turn loose of tha cash..........

Tha boat looks decent in that picture. Just check out tha floor for soft spots. Especially buy tha drivers seat. Really check out tha transom. Paint and carpet can be deceiving.

JMO and gl with it...........T
