SUCKED ASS!!! :(
Rain, thunderstorms, rotational clouds with hail nearby. Then the temps dove into the 30s with winds in the 30+mph as well. We packed up and left a day early. Headed out Saturday instead of Sunday. In fact the big 3 day, 2 lake tournament scheduled out of Lake Fork Marina was cancelled! Good thing we left Sat morn instead of Sun morn, Lake Fork Marina and Lake Fork Lodge were hit by thieves. 2 boats were stolen and 30 were striped clean of electronics and rodsNreels.
The fish were already up shallow but the cold weather shocked the water and dropped it into the 50s in alot of the lake. The rest of this week is supposed to be nice, should be bitin again tomorrow.
9th time I've been down there, all but 1 were in March. Most were decent weather and good fishin so I guess I can't complain about 1 bad trip. Already booked again for nextyear at Lake Fork Marina again. (Will have alarms on the boats along with my .357 with laser grips! ;) )
Such is life,

Is there a company that makes an alarm just for boats? It should be just like an car alarm. You would need to have a sensor for movement of the boat and I would contact all lids and have a remote to arm/disarm with a bright red l.e.d. on the dash for arm statis...

I don't know FJ, but I gotta year to find out and rig my boat before going back down there. (I always remove my side imagining anyway but usually leave my tackle, rodsNreels but I reckon they'll go in the room at night nextyear as well. )
My boat has automatic LEDs in every compartment that work via magnetic switches on the lids. I turn the system "ON" with a switch on the dash. I'm thinking somehow, someway that will be the system to tap into for some sort of alarm tripping/arming.
And then also, since it IS Texas one could very easily BLOW AWAY some sorry sack of crap thief and get nothing more than a "Atta boy" from the local law enforcement. :D ;)

If all the wires for each box come back to a central point you can use a 12vdc coiled, double through double pole relay to make a split, one side will control your lights while the other side works the alarm.. If the wires don't homerun then you will have to run a wire to each box..There is a car alarm that will do voltage drop sencing, it will detect if smallest amount of current is being used while the system is set (light turning on)..Might be the way to go..This would be only a 3 wire connection to the boat and your done..

If boat is still hooked to truck or car ,car alarm should still work if someone jumps on the boat.
And one should be able to hook up a standard car alarm in the boat,if separate
