Guy's,
i just wanted to know what sort of line you use and why.???Here in Australia we mainly use braid in probably 95% of the time.Mainly for the feel ya get braid and the thin diameter. Some here use fluro carbon staight through for crank's,you guy's neally all use mono or flurocarbon...Just curious???????

P-line C XX Copolymer...fairly limp and wont break for me anyway

I have braid on a spinning reel to keep testing casting ability ??

I do not use ANY braid. Tried it and hated it. Thats not to say I will not try it agin in the future at some point. It is stronger than goats breath, I do like that, but thats about it.

I'm not a huge fan of braid, but I do use it from time to time (Power Pro). Mostly with frogs, etc. in heavy cover (lily pads), and fast moving baits through heavy grass. My absolute favorite line is McCoys Mean Green copolymer.I use it 90% of the time. Monofilament is OK, but it's just not strong enough for the heavy cover I normally fish. I absolutely will not use fluorocarbon. The stuff is like straw.

Depends on the conditions and what I'm throwing. I use Flouro for most of my line, Mono for topwaters and Braid when there is ultra heavy vegatation - nothing cuts thru it better.

Yeah if you backlash the braid bad enough in a wind sorm it can get expensive !
I like the comfort zone braid gives me whit a fish ON in heavy grass or millfoil and we have a ton of it on our lake.

Really though, as long as I don't forget to reset the anti-backlash knob when I change from jigs to worms ... I'm good to go.

Fished a fresh batch of 30 lb Sufix Pro last week and it is super tuff, very impressive. Hooked a 7 pounder last Thursday, it swam around a pier piling, got it undone, then it went under the boat and around my trolling motor twice.

The largemouth swallowed the 10" worm deep, I raised the trolling motor and ended up with my fish & hook intact. Was gonna let em go but he died a few minutes later so he ended up in the fridge.

I tried various brands of braid but didn't have much luck with them because I backlash often when using braid. Main problem is that with braid the line "cuts into" line on the reel and causes untold problems.

I don't use braided line. Just never liked it. I just stick with my Trilene Big Game. It's pretty much the line I've preferred for years now. It's never let my down yet.

Braid on everything! last 15ft. i will tie a blood knot of florocarbon or mono. and ya dont have to re-spool braid as much as other lines. its cheaper in the long run. this method works.

I have braid on one baitcaster and mono on another. I was using the mono baitcaster to fish swimbaits in the lake behind my house and did really well. The last two times out I used the same swimbait with braid and never even got a hit. Now the frog rod I'm using with braid i got fish each night.

Now I know conditions change from day to day, but I am wondering whether the braid is as good as mono when working lures on the edge or outside of vegetation or when fishing deeper. I was wondering if it was more visible and spooked the fish. The water is not that clear but its not muddy either. I was using the 65 lb spiderwire stealh moss green line.

I never use mono anymore. Usually flouro & Berkely Fireline. Love the Berkely fireline & hope to convert to it, when my supply of flouro runs out.

I don't use braided line. Just never liked it. I just stick with my Trilene Big Game. It's pretty much the line I've preferred for years now. It's never let my down yet.

I guided professionally for over 17 years, and I needed to put fish in the boat every time I went out. Of the 15 rods I carry in my boat, 14 of them are spooled with braid for a reason. It's thin diameter, it's strong, and it costs less to spool up a reel than the cheapest mono. So that means I can fish a lighter lure deeper, I can get better hooksets, I have better sensitivity and it doesn't have nearly the stretch that mono does.

I did a test once, using 14 lb. Trilene Big Game, and compared it to different lines, PowerPro being one of the lines tested. Using 20 feet of line, tied to a scale and pulling out a tape measure, I backed up until the line broke. The 10 lb. PowerPro stretched six inches until it broke at 11.6 pounds. The Big Game broke at almost 20 pounds, and stretched well over four FEET in a 20 foot length!!!!!

I use braided line for all of my fishing, finding it to be very cost effective to fish, and I don't worry one little bit about fish "seeing" the line. The way I figure it, a fish's brain isn't large enough to have pain receptors, does it really matter if a fish sees the line? Their brain isn't as big as my pinkie fingernail, so I seriously doubt if they have any reasoning capability at all....

I really like the way the braid casts and the way it feels on a hook set but if the fish are being very shy I worry about the line visibility. It could be the flyfisherman in me but they may just have a more heightened sense of "something doesn't look right or natural" when they are skittish. In heavy cover I don't have any doubts about it but if the bite slows, or its the middle of the day I feel like the fish get a little paranoid and skittish and they just sort of notice things that may look unnatural.

Of course the more logical explanation is my lure presentation sucks:D

Fishin plastics, jigs, frogs, jerk baits I will throw braid in a heart beat when in the cover. As far as using it on a daily basis no. I am the type that uses the correct line or what I think is the correct line for the situation at hand. Braid in the dense stuff.......floro when throwing cranks and worms or jigs, and coploymer when throwing spinnerbaits and topwaters.

Do not use braid, have too much trouble with it. Use only P-Line CXX Xtra strong on all my reels except for top water. I have been lucky never lost a fish due to P-Line breaking. Lost plenty many other ways though.
