For alot of us the warmer weather is upon us
This means hot and humid days on the water.....boat traffic
If ya'll are fishing for fun, do you go early and call it like 11 or 12 noon
Or gut it out for the long haul of the day....like all day
I live in Ga. so I might last till 1200 noon
I know......" depends on the bite"

I'll have to admit, it's tough trying to stay out there in the humidity even it the bite is on. But I've had sunburn before. I just keep plenty of sunblock with me just in case. As soon as the water gets hot enough, it's nightime fishing then. Til then, it's usually first thing in the morning.

Night fishing is some of the most productive fishing you'll ever have in the summer. Get ya a good black light and tear em up. Watch out for the bats.
Went night fishing last night on Lake of the Ozarks. Went out that 3am in by 9am. Caught some good fish like this one.

The best part is that you generally have the lake all to yourselves.

How do you night fish without running into islands or such? Or do you stay around the boat ramp?

Knowing the lake and running only fast enough to get/stay on plane. You'd be suprized how well you can see even in pitch black darkness once your eyes adjust. I wouldnt night fish a lake on my first trip out on a new lake.

Heat Advisory
HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH DEW POINTS WILL AGAIN PRODUCE DANGEROUS
HEAT INDICES ACROSS WEBB COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. HEAT INDEX VALUES
BETWEEN 110 AND 112 DEGREES WILL OCCUR FROM THE AFTERNOON THROUGH
EARLY EVENING HOURS. THESE HIGH INDICES CAN BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE
WORKING OUTDOORS UNLESS PRECAUTIONS ARE TAKEN.
I get txt alerts on my phone and Ive received this one alllll freakin' week. I went out yesterday and I was at the boat ramp loading up around 11:00am... couldn't take the sun anymore.

Sun up till 3-4 here in the Northwest depending on which side of the mountains I'm on and if June,Jul, or August. Hate fishing in 100 degree heat it just wears me out.

80 deg. here at 9:30 this morning and smothering humidity. Even night fishing is a chore with conditions like this.

Try to get on the water 1=2x's a week and at least one tournament a week end.

If it's a tournament, I'll burn like bacon before I give in, but in general I'm usually off the water by 10 or 11. Sometimes I'll go visit the in-laws cause they live about 5 mins away and go back for the late afternoon.

What part of the lake were you fishing?
We used to have a lake house on LOA, on the Gravois arm, right at the entrance to Indian Creek. The house was waterfront, off the P road between Laurie and Gravois Mills. Great fishing there and all the cigarette boats were down by Osage Beach.
God, I hated it when family sold that house! My father-in-law would have given us a great deal on the place, but the wife and I live in Texas and couldn't justify the bucks to only go up there a few times a year.

BACK ON TOPIC...
I'm a 6am to 11am guy lately. Temps in Austin TX are over 100 degrees by early afternoon, sometimes earlier than that. The good fish are coming in the boat at first light, last light, or pitch dark.

Spending most this year in the Grand Glaise arm up by PB1. Just re-learning the lake one branch at a time!
