Last Saturday NY bass season opened. Sunday we had a partners tourney limited to Lake 'o' Iles with 16 boats and a 5 fish limit per boat. All boats brought in 5 fish. Everyone said numerous small bass(12-14") were caught. Winning weight was 12.66lbs and lunker was 3.75lbs. The Canadian bass season opens this Saturday and our first points tournament is Sunday on the river.:party0011:

Friends that come and rent places around me say the bass fishing has been good. Not many SM but lots of LM 12 to 18". Smallies will be deep now as the surface temp.is 75-80 degrees. Northern Pike are hitting, but for the most part they're small. Will be hitting the river a few times this week with my nephew.

Yesterday was the annual cottage 'Fish Fry'. All week we caught bass for it, keeping bass 12-14 inches. Several larger ones were caught and released. A young boy of 10 caught the largest, 18" close to 4lbs. he was thrilled. All in all it was a sucess and the fishing was great. I use Rocky Madson's "Fish Crisp"[made in Canada] for a batter, real good stuff.
