Hot ,hot ,hot, slow curent so the ledge bite is iffy if at all, most current is generated later than what a T angler can use from 2 to 6 pm.Not that one cant get bit on a ledge some quality fish are still on them just not in numbers.

You can fish a hump or ledge one day and they are there but not the next or leave a few min later someone else gets into them as they are moving around with their food supply.Target 12 to 25 ft on creek channel edges or main channel with 10 in purple worms.

Shallow schoolers are present in the bays on secondary points worms ,flukes spinnerbaits and as long as fry is present they will continue to bite however many are not keepers most of the keepers one does get are 21/2 pds or so,with an occasional bigger fish but many many smaller ones. One can have a 50 fish day with these easily and they are a ball.

Topwater bite has been iffy as well other than some schooler action, with much better results using a sub surface bait even something that is barely under the water such as a 1 minus crank.

Spinnerbaits a 3/8 oz with chart shirt and a single colorado gold blade nothing huge one size smaller than normal for the bait .If cranking deep white spatterback in a dd22 (ie mixed results) most likly due to the lack of current.

On the main lake the lazer eye in sexy shad has also been working, mostly on schoolers.

Lake is now below summer pool at about 358.45,first time this year since the flood.

I know its hot but wear the life jacket and always connect the kill lanyard.

Naw its that time of year mate 17-19 pds in 5 is good right now for a check.
Been getting just under that, but as the ledge bite drops even more and less and less current my shallow patterns win.
Im more comfortable fishing heavy veggies in 2 -3ft of water than ledge fishing.
Have frog will travel, just not far as the fishins to good round here

You mean this coontail, lotus and pondweed with some duckweed and dollar lillies thrown in
http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp228/lilmule12002/lillypads002.jpg
or just a plain old feld of american lotus with some milfoil
http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp228/lilmule12002/h002-1.jpg
The result is in that pic or this one most are 15 -17 in right now and thats a large money minoow swimbait fished weightless like a fluke as they are hesitant to hit a topwater frog they just slash at them no hookup, not all but many strikes that way.

How do you find stuff like that, well drive the boat till its about where you would turn around on the troler at and start, making sure to go the actual backs of bays around all the turns, sometimes 100 acres of this awaits one in skinny wa wa,those that do not fish 2 ft of water or less and turn around in 4 ft of water never ever even see this stuff.
That one field with Steves pic is several hundred acres, and no NOT TELLING YOU WHERE.

Yeah ledge bite really is iffy and not till about 2 pm to 6 is there any at all,the ledge itself right now is not the hot spot its the hump surrounded by deep water, locals call that still fishing a ledge to me its fishing a hump,10-11 in purple worms, paca craws by themselves no jig or a small baby bushog crig, yeah lakes got some nice drum in it.
Best bet fish shallow early to mid day for schoolers then about 2 oclock try a few min for a kicker out on a ledge, those being near the mouth of big sandy being of importance due to proxcimity to paris landing quick flight back.
I take it you fished fishers of men.
Oddly the murry state water station had the temp at the same at 3.1 meter below as on top today, actually both in the 84 deg range with less oxy down below of course.

ABA,its a draw a nonboater format not pick but decent if not enough non boaters and seldom is, you fish alone in your boat if you brought one.
A draw pard gets 1/2 the time but not necessarilly the front of the boat and shares gas expense,20 bucks being the min normally given.
Div 32 and 41 both fish ky lake, with 41 fishing down your way every now and then.
it is nice having the same pard all the time though.
