Laptops vs Desktops

I don't know how everyone else on here feels about their computers. I've used a desktop for the last 15 years. Now they have me on a laptop, and I gotta say, I like the desktop better than this thing. It's not big enough for my hands to fit on comfortably. Dp any of you prefer one over the other?

Honestly other than being portable I really dont like a laptop. Maybe I am an old fudie dudie but I want a mouse and a big enough keyboard and screen that I dont have to squint and I want ALL the features of the desktop.......yes I know I can add printers etc to the lap but it just aint the same........Guess I am kinda like Tim Allen............Bigger and MORE POWER ALWAYS WINS!!!!!!

I like both....when I use my laptop for downloading programs into a cnc mill or lathe its kinda nice...but in order to run the 3d modeling programs I had to overclock and add a "super whizzy processor" but the thing got hot and over heated within an hour of running hard....

I leave that up to my desktop machine....its a beast wouldnt trade it for the world....I built it myself....its a BEAST!!!

I too like both of them. For school and relaxing in the living room and I just want to surf the net or something, I love the lap top! I multi-task and watch tv while I surf the net.
But when I am writing papers, or downloading things-I use the desk top. It's basically for all of the important things, and the lap top is just used for looking stuff up.

I'm just the opposite. I have to use the laptop for all my work related things. But I use my desktop for getting on here and getting on the internet. I'll just have to get used to this blame thing. I'm like Laser in that it's just too small a blame screen and I always tilt my keyboards when I'm on the computer. Makes it more like a typewriter for me. The laptop is just flat. That's hard to get used to. Tends to make me typing a little slower.

I got news for you ol Fathead.... I took typing in high school. I can type about 60 words a minute thank you. Us old farts have things we can still do ya know. hahahaha

We switched from a desktop to a laptop. It took awhile to get used to it because the screen was smaller, but now I have no problem with it.

Lap top definitely, go anywhere you can teather off your smart phone to get on the intenet for free

If you are looking for something to just surf the web, play movies, listen to music, check email etc. and not do any word processing or stuff then a tablet might be a good option as well. I got an IPAD I use for travelling since I keep all the books and movies on there for the plane ride. You can also bring it into the bathroom to read the paper (digital version) and surf BPS online. Won't be long before the bass boats start coming out with mi-fi hotspots installed and stuff so you can stream footbal games while you are fishing (of course then you will have people flying around the lake checking their emails and sending texts:mad:).
