TRITON ANGLER WINS
RAY SCOTT CHAMPIONSHIP BASS TOURNAMENT

ASHLAND CITY, TENNESSEE – Triton owner Albert Collins has won the American Bass Anglers’ (ABA) Weekend Bass Series Ray Scott Championship tournament, held November 12-15 at Wheeler Lake near Decatur, Alabama. For his winning effort, Collins pocketed the $100,000 championship prize plus an additional $50,000 from the Triton Gold contingency award program, escalating his total winnings to $150,000.

Collins, a veteran Sam Rayburn Lake bass guide from Nacogdoches, Texas, fished from a Triton 20 XS tournament boat to bag a total of 20 bass weighing 56.18 pounds during the four-day event. He used a Yumbrella Flash Mob Jr. umbrella rig equipped with 3.5-inch Kicker Fish swim baits to catch bass holding on submerged stumps in 4 to 10 feet of water along the main river channel.

Second place in the event went to Triton owner Cavin Young of Prince George, Virginia, who boated 20 bass weighing 52.52 pounds on spinnerbaits. Young, who also competed from a Triton 20 XS, won $11,000 plus a $5,500 Triton Gold bonus. Ninth placed winner Scott Dean of Terrell, Texas fished from a Triton 21 TrX and collected a Triton Gold bonus check of $500.

“The $50,000 bonus check awarded to Albert Collins is the biggest single payout in the history of the Triton Gold tournament contingency program,” said Triton founder Earl Bentz. “We congratulate Albert on his hard-fought victory in this prestigious tournament.”
The Triton Gold rewards program presents Triton boat owners who excel in tournament competition with a golden opportunity to substantially increase their tournament earnings, Bentz added. “With more than 3,000 sanctioned tournaments to choose from, Triton Gold offers serious anglers potential cash payouts of over $20 million, making it one of the most lucrative contingency programs in competitive fishing.”
