Back in the mid 50's fishing with an Zebco 33 with my Mother, and Uncle at the lake of the Ozarks. Throwing, I think it was an 8" Red plastic worm the one with a spinner on the front and red and chrome beads, the worm had 3 exposed hooks. Along with Zebco 33 it was attached to 5' steel pole. On one of the casts as I came forward it suddenly stopped, at first we thought the worm was just caught in my ball cap, but further investigation one hook caught the bottom (Fatty Part) of my ear it came all the way thru. My uncle had a pair of pliers with side cutters he was gonna cut the barb side off and pull it back thru. Well I had nothing to do with that I started to scream to high heaven. We ended up in town, doctors office, Doc using the Uncles pliers he cut the hook off barb side and pulled it thru, and I sat there and didn't say a word. The Doctor charged my uncle $5.00 for using his pliers. Now that probably was around 1957.
