Well, after picking the brain of our little buddy down in Florida last week, I decided to give braided line another try. Bought a spool of Power Pro 20 lb. Went small because I spooled two different reels with it. A casting reel and a spinning reel. I admit that from my earlier experiences with it years ago, that it has definately changed. But the one thing that stood out to me was the hook setting ability. Felt like setting the hook with a 2 x 4. I have to think that when worm fishing as we were, it had to help in the speed of the set. It also casted great. Had a few minor backlashes, but nothing that couldn't be picked out easily. Did set the hook on a log once. Too deep, so tried to break the line. Straightened a #4 worm hook. That was impressive. So I guess I'm going to start using this stuff more often. Laus, I appreciate the advice brother.
