When I'm towing my construction trailer - yes. When towing my boat most of the time - no. If I find it shifting out of overdrive often then I'll lock it out. Here in Texas where I'm at it's pretty flat so about the only time I drop out of over drive pullin' the boat is on over-passes n' such.

The step in the wire coming from the head sho' seems like it'd be prone to straightening out w/a big fish. Could be wrong, have been before, but it sure looks that'a way to me. I'm not saying it'd be completely straight but I doubt it'll hold that angle over time/use.
