Ok thanks for the replies guys, if i was to go 150hp instead would there be much difference in top speed between evinrude HO and mercury four stroke?

Looking at a 175hp motor, the 2 choices are evinrude and the yamaha sho. Can i get some pros and cons on each from those who have had some experience with either motor

Thanks for the input guys, i'm leaning towards the phoenix, i've heard nothing but good things about basscat but its the marginally smaller of the 3 and furtherest away, i will get quotes and hopefully that will make up my mind.

Also i should mention i live in Australia and the dealers pretty much order as required so i can't unfortunately go take them for a test drive and also the phoenix and skeeter dealer is the same dealer who is 3hrs away and the basscat dealer is 8hrs away

Hi guys, As the above title says i'm looking at these 3 boats, Skeeter zx190 with 175hp Yamaha SHO Phoenix 618 with 175hp Mercury XS Basscat sabre ftd with 175hp in either evinrude, mercury XS or Yamaha SHO. Does anyone have any experiences with any of these boats as far as rough water ride...

Yeh theres just so many more options over there, going back about 5 years ago the dollar was about equal and would have been the perfect time to buy but unfortunately i wasnt doing much fishing then

Yeh thats abit of a guide, trouble over here is there are only limited used bass boats at a time for sale and trying to find something to what you want is tough, yeh we have all the bass boat dealers but its to expensive for me to buy new, eg i've been looking at the skeeter 190zx model, to buy...

Yeh my general rules always to max the boat out, just wish you could get 175hp 4 stroke merc.

What are peoples thoughts on either the mercury 150hp 4 stroke or 175hp XS for the 618? Would there be a significant top end speed difference or worth the extra money?

Has anyone got some feedback of the stratos 189vlo? Also the stratos website says there max rating is 175 but other sites say 150 can anyone confirm this?

Yeh that's right Kipp, the skeeter dealer is also the phoenix importer aswell and there the closest bass boat importer to us
