Launched at Drayton Island Ferry ramp. water temp was low 70's.
Got a few early on a frog and spook in a cove that leads to salt springs. Then shot over to willow cove where Alton Jones fished on the last day of citrus slam. Nothing.Then back to the south end of the salt springs cove and nothing.
Decided to try a strecth of bank on the west side of the lake across from Drayton Island. Jackpot! Zoom ultravibe speed craw/ june bug with 1/8oz weight and a 3/8 0z jig with a rage craw trailer in black/ blue. worked it across the eelgrass to the edge were it met the dollar bonnets. Couple of 4 pounders right away and then a bunch of 1 -3 lbers. Had about a 5lber that shook off.
