Not sure if this is an issue or just normal. I have only had the boat for a week and on the water twice.
Boat is a 1998 ranger R91 with 1998 Mariner 200 mag efi
Motor starts up fine and idles great. I putt around for about 5 mins to let her warm up and then when I try to take off the motor just kind of hesitates or "loads up" I can literally put it wide open and it just sits there trying to spin up but stutters. It doesn't die or anything. So I put it back down to idle and try again. After 2 or 3 attempts she will spin up and run fine.
I find this odd because I am not new to the 2 stroke engine. They can be cold blooded but I figured after idling around for around 5 mins it should not load up like it is. With all the excitement and nerves of driving my very own bass boat I did not check the fuel bulb but I'm pretty sure it was fine.
Should I look into it more or do I need to give her some rev's in neutral to wake the beast?
I look forward to answering any questions I can to help you.. help me
