Ethanol in gas

I have a gas station near me that sells gas with no ethanol added. My question is if I fill my boat with this gas and then have to buy gas with ethanol added will this hurt anything ? I have read somewhere you should't mix regular gas with ethanol gas, sounds stupid I know but would like some input on this matter.
