I have a 2009 Nitro X5 with a Mercury 115 optimax on it. Last weekend had motor problems: cut out at no-wake idle speed zone: smoked: and while up on plane the motor just lost half of its throttle and wouldn't get enough rpm to get back on plane. Took it to BPS boat shop and they checked and said that the inside of fuel line had decomposed and had gotten into the motors fuel filter which then plugged up a bit. No water was found in the system as I always put blue stabil in when I gas up. I'm surprised that the fuel line went bad in only 27 months. Boat shop said there is a new fuel line approved for use that will not decompose so that is their fix. Anybody else have similar problems in late model boats/motors?
