Hot! Hot! Hot! ... and the fishing was good too.

With the rain, the water is up about 6 inches which was nice to see.

We got a late start due to some mechanical issues, but were on the water by 8AM. We went South on the L67A just past the first bend, and fished frogs for about half an hour. We picked up a few bass there, but the topwater bite had already slowed. Everyone else started to head toward the Sawgrass Expressway canal, so I continued South to the Miami Canal junction (S-157).

We switched to 6 inch BPS Senko style worms in Watermelon flake, with 3/16th OZ bullet weight hooks (Texas Rig). We casted into the pads, and into the North side mangroves and rocks. The water was clear enough to sight fish. We drifted down the canal for a good mile pulling bass after bass up. Good Quality Bass. Most fish were 1.5 lbs or bigger, and we got a lot in the 2 to 3 range. I got the biggest with a 5 to 6 lb Bass that I barely landed. Overall, it was great. Only other boat out there was a park rental.
