LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 6.1FEET, 72 DEGREES AND CLEAR By Ken Sturdivant

Bass fishing is fair and the key this week has been rocks on points. Bass are coming off the corners of the rocky points on rocks off bridge or around rocks around a ramp. The sunnier days seem to be paying off better than cloudy ones while fishing the rocks. A cold front and the full moon this week are coming in together this week end and fishing usually gets a little tough when this happens. Check out the dock in the creeks with crank baits, jigs, worms and anything else you can think of. Lipless Crank baits are always a fall favorite. Use the Bandits, the Rattlin' Raps, a DT10 as well as a spinner bait. On creeks on old channels, use a Culprit red shad worm on a Texas rig with the brass and glass combination. Spotted bass down lake on points are after the Shad Raps in the #7 shad and black back on 10 pound test line. Use a natural green Zoom lizard on a 2 foot Carolina rig and cast it anywhere on the banks down lake. The river is stained and fishing has been tough up lake.
