LAKE OCONEE IS FULL POOL, 73 DEGREES AND CLEAR BY MARK SMITH

Bass fishing is good. The fish are midway to the back of the creeks and a lot of fish are showing up under and around docks. This pattern will last most of the fall season. Use a Senko or a shaky head fished slowly in the brush under these docks. As always this time of year try a buzz bait first thing. Almost all of the creeks and coves are loaded with bait. A buzz bait is a great way to cover a lot of water until you find what your are looking for. Shallow running crank baits fished by docks will also bring bass to the boat. This is a great time to be on the water and the fishing is getting better every day.

Line side fishing is good. Stripers are starting to show up from river bend to the dam. The lower end of Richland Creek has some schools also. When you find the schools on your Lowrance drop a shad or a shiner and hold on. The umbrella rig is still producing some fish but live bait is working better.

Crappie fishing is very good. The fish are in the mouths of most creeks and big coves. Live bait is the ticket. Look for the fish in 10 ft. of water. Some fish are coming from under docks. The crappie are getting bigger every day as the water gets cooler and cooler.
