Bass fishing is slow. With the numerous bass tournaments that have been going on, the fish are heavily pressured and have nearly shut down completely. The lake bite has been extremely slow with most fishermen hardly catching anything. Your best bet for catching bass right now is to find water that has had less fishing pressure. Fishing backwaters or going way up the Chattahoochee, Flint, or Spring creek is your best bet for finding less pressured fish. In the backwaters, flipping or frog fishing is about your best bet. When flipping, use a 1 ounce Tungsten, 25 pound Sunline fluorocarbon, and a 4" Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog in Prime Rib. For frog fishing use a Spro Popper in Nasty Shad. If you decide to go up the rivers or way up Spring Creek, you really only need one bait, which would be a jerk bait. A Spro McStick in Blue Bandit is hard to beat. In order to get the best action out of the bait, use 10 to 12 pound Sunline fluorocarbon or drop all the way down to 8 pound and use a spinning outfit.
