Question about buying a boat with a Ficht.

I am looking at a 1985 Ranger V370 that has been repowered with a 1998 Johnson 150 Ficht FastStrike.

Now, I know that Fichts have a generally bad reputation if built by OMC, and that the resale values of them can be pretty bad. However, the dealer says the previous owner had good success with this engine, and it has been recently refurbished.

So my question is, if a Ficht has been reliable for this long, is it reasonable to assume that this particular motor isn't one of the lemons, and is therefore worth a look? Or, should I just run away from any OMC Ficht?
