I recently purchased a 1994 Stratos 201ProXL bass boat. The boat is 20' 3" long and has a 1994 150 HP Evinrude Intruder for a power plant. I'm also running a 14 1/4 inch/21 pitch stainless steel, four-bladed prop.

I have had the boat in the water about a half dozen times and the boat is very slow to get on plane - and when I say slow I mean more than 30 seconds. The boat goes bow (nose) up and I loose all visibility until it planes. It doesn't matter where the trim is set I end up with the same result.

The boat came with two after market wings (a SESport 300 and a StingRay XPII). I tried the SEsport on the fourth and the StingRay on the fifth outing. Neither had a noticeable affect on the amount of time that it takes to get the boat on plane.

What are my options at this point to improve the amount of time that it takes to get the boat on plane? I'm considering a jack plate, but don't have enough information to make an educated decision yet.
