Ok I've given up on fishing hollow body frogs, just don't get bites and most went into the boxes of stuff for our upcoming garage sale. I had a couple of bags of toads in the boat though so I've been trying to learn them.

Not too fond of the zoom horny toad, just doesn't make much comotion on top. I like the stanely ribbit and the strike king super toad definitely get attention comming across the water. I was getting consistent bites on the ribbit, but couldn't set the hook on one. I has read on frogs that you need to wait to set the hook until the fish loads up but would miss by then. Tried setting the hook right away and still struck out. I'm using braided line, 4/0 ewg hook, 7.1:1 gear ratio.

What tips do you more seasoned toad guys have? Do I need the double frog hooks?
