Was looking at the screen shots of several fishfinder/gps units..downscan/sidescan all that stuff..and I gotta say I can't make heads or tails of the pictures. Do these high res electronics really help people catch fish or are they sort of like 3-D TV..a novelty? Now I'll admit I fish in real shallow areas in South Florida where a fishfinder is pretty much useless, but other than locating dropoffs or just fish does the high res down scan/sidescan etc stuff really make a difference?
