Ok, I was made an awesome deal on 2.5 litre power head that I was told was a 200 merc.. but was detuned to a 150...to match cowl and keep under the hp rating... what has to be done to detune one??? and what has to be done to take it back to a 175 or 200 ??boat rated for 175, I have seen 150,175 and 200 2.5 litre blocked motors I cant believe Merc would invest in 3 different blocks for each hp rating...it has to be a simple not neccassarily cheap switching of parts...
