I am seriously considering installing some form of seat belt system in my boat. I'm aware of the argument that if the boat flips and ya' get knocked out - you could drown. I put that in the same class as the automotive argument against seat belts that being: If the car catches fire and you can't get it undone - you'll fry.

I've hooked boats at speed several times and nev'a got chunked out nor has the boat been anywhere near flippin'. For the added advantage of stayin' seated during rough condidions, making is much easier to control the boat, seat belts make a lot of sense to me.

Recalling RA's li'l adventure I'm curious as to how much harm he would'a suffered if he'd been bolted in with seat belts.

Seat belts in the boat would not be an end all to possible injury. In a violent collision or loss of control at high speeds you could very well still substain injuries but... you'd still be in the boat.
