Anyone else ever do this? I was reading up on summer fishing last night before going to bed and my whole sleep was restless because I was thinking about lures, technique, and fish finders (thanks gonefishing!). Finally, around 05:00 I got up, grabbed a couple rods from the boat (it's parked in the garage due to storms this week) and rigged one with a top water crankbait and the other with a soft lizard. Took the rods and my coffee cup down to the pier and made a few casts with the crankbait. I noticed a bass hitting the surface not too far from the pier so I started casting in that direction. After a couple more casts, a strike! I didn't get the hook set (because I'm an amateur) and he got a way. I tried a few more times to no avail. A big storm rolled in so I brought my stuff back up to the house.
After replacing the battery yesterday, I noticed my horn no longer works. The two events are completely unrelated as I am sure I got a lot of water in the horn the other day after scrubbing and rinsing the front deck carpet. Still wanting to do something fish/boat related, I removed the horn and brought it inside for dissection while I drink another cup of coffee.
Heading off to work shortly. I hope everyone enjoys the day. I am not very religious, but I am thinking each one (day) is some type of blessing at this point in my life.
