Daiwa Announces 24 Certate – The Next Gen of Legendary Spinning Reel
Daiwa has announced the next generation of their legendary Certate spinning reels. The new 24 Certate is built upon a 20-year legacy of Daiwa striving for the best spinning reel they can possibly make. The Certate spinning reels were first introduced to the world back in 2004, with Daiwa’s introduction of the “REAL FOUR” design concept. The concept was born from the pursuit of making a reel that meets the future standards of spinning reels.
To align with these four performance requirements of that original Certate, the 24 Certate is loaded with the most advanced tech that Daiwa has to offer. Starting with the reel frame, built on Daiwa’s famous Monocoque (MQ) Aluminum Frame technology. It allows for the reel to have a larger main gear in the same size body. The frame is also stiffer to keep everything precisely lined up. There are also much fewer screw holes, reducing entry points of water intrusion. Along with the MQ frame, the 24 Certate features a full Airdrive system, consisting of an Airdrive Rotor, Bail, Spool, and Shaft. Making for the reel to be lighter and stronger at the same time, while no having no starting inertia when you start reeling. The line lay on the spool is incredibly precise as well. Along with these high-tech features the 24 Certate also comes with Magseal, Digigear, Advanced Tournament Drag System, and a Twistbuster III roller. These new reels will be available in sizes 2500 to 5000. MSRP for the reels starts at $569.99 and goes up to $629.99.
Not long ago, DAIWA Marketing Manager and admitted ‘reel connoisseur’ Marc Mills was in Japan and had the opportunity to test the new CERTATE before its arrival in North America. “CERTATE reels have always been smooth, but this was noticeably smoother, more refined,” said Mills, impressed that greatness could get even greater.
