Daiwa Saltiga Spinning Reel Now Available in Inshore Sizes

First introduced back in 2002, the Daiwa Saltiga spinning reel is the flagship model that they made to be the new standard of heavy-duty saltwater spinning gear. The Saltiga spinning line was last updated in 2020 and now due to the demand from inshore and nearshore anglers, there is a new addition. The Saltiga spinning reels are now available in the new 4000, 5000, and 6000 sizes.

The new smaller sizes of the Saltiga still have all the features and trappings of their bigger brothers. Built on Daiwa’s inimitable monocoque body for a rigid and sturdy reel frame. The Daiwa monocoque design uses a one-piece frame with a one-piece threaded side plate with no screws. With the screws gone, there is more space for sealing and the internals of the reel. Along with those benefits, no screws mean no screw holes so fewer points for potential water intrusion into the reel. Housed in the monocoque body is the G1 Duralumin cut Digigear system, a gearing system developed with bigger teeth and more tough points for more gear strength and torque. These features are only the beginning of the Saltiga, it also features the Daiwa Longcast spool, Advanced Tournament Drag, the Daiwa Air Rotor, and so many others to make this a cutting-edge reel meant to last in the salt.
