I know it was you! You must have a little Mercury engine voodoo doll, or maybe you snuck into the Mercury factory and sabotaged it. I know it had to be you taking vengeance for me going with Opti over the HPDI! I'm on to you! 
Okay... I got word from my dealer that they were doing final water tests of my Phoenix when the brand new Optimax gave up the ghost. They took it back, ran it through the computer, and then sent the results straight to Mercury. Mercury is shipping a brand new engine overnight to replace my original 175 Pro XS. I'm not taking delivery until the 14th of April so my schedule hasn't changed, but I gotta say that Mercury really stepped up here.
...still...I know on the security cam footage Darth will be seen Ninja flipping through the boat yard, or maybe he was in the river Navy Seal style messing with it when they stopped...
