Watching the Clssic footage, almost all the pros grabbed their line to boat their fish. That's a big No No but I guess they are using braid and have confidence in it. However, without the give in the rod to offset the pressure of a jumping fish, I guess they bank on the odds it won't jump or have a hook pull by grabbing the line. I still can't watch without wondering how they feel confident doing that.
