Well I finally got to go fishing yesterday after a long long long time. Loaded up the ole 12ft Jon Boat and to the pond I went. Managed to catch 5 yearlings. What was difficult and yet special was that I caught them on my Dad's old rods and reels. They had not been used since Summer of 2004 or so and of course with Dad passing back in January it was sort of difficult to fish with them but I did. Stripped all the old line and off and loaded them up with new Mono and these old Bait Casting Shakespeare Reels worked just fine. Dogwoods are blooming big time, Fish are begin to Spawn and memories are plentiful.
What is the best time to go fishing? Anytime you can go!
Hope it is not so long before I get to go again and those ole Shakespeare reels will be with me whenever that might be and Bama I think is headed into and Early Summer.
