DIY Thermostat Change 2006 Mercury 150 Optimax

Before you pay hundreds of dollars to change out the thermostats on your Mercury I have included photos of changing mine and the problems on the starboard side. photo 1 shows the thermostat and the loosened bolt hitting the fuel line, photo 2 thermostat with fuel rail bolts, and picture 3 close up of fuel rail bolt and thermostat, photo 4 is definitely what you do not want to take completely off (result in O rings dropping out).
You will need and 8mm wrench for the thermostat bolts and a 15mm for the two fuel rail bolts.
***Loosen top and bottom fuel rail bolts just enough to remove right thermostat bolt***
Included copy of invoice from IBoats www.iboats.com (great cheap place to order thermostats) my local boat house here wanted over 30 bucks for one thermostat not including new rubber washer.
