I'm sure this has happend to many people. I know when I first got my boat, I forgot to put the plug in. I backed the boat into the water, then it hit me I forgot the plug. I always run through a checklist in my mind when I'm backing my boat in. So no harm.
I had a friend tell me he forgot it & went out several miles from the ramp. He noticed his bilge was constantly running & wasn't sure why. Then as the rear started sagging he realized what had happened. He hauled butt back to the ramp. Getting up on plane helped drain some of the water. He was able to keep his boat afloat & on the trailer. He said it was a big pain in the a@@ & he never did it again.
I try & put my plug in before I leave the house. Because usually at the ramp you are in a hurry & it is something that is easily missed.
