My brilliant plan of buying a boat from a Northern dealer in winter has saved me several thousand dollars, but I forgot something...

ICE. More specifically, they are iced in. Florida makes you forget that the rest of the world actually gets cold. They have no way to water test the boat until their launch ramp unfreezes, and since my nearest Phoenix dealer is 400 miles North, they have to make everything perfect. Very...frustrating. The ice still extends 10 feet from their launch ramp.

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the advice you've given me on specing out the Phoenix. I figured I would share the final set up.

Phoenix 618 Pro
Mercury 175 Pro XS (with 5 year platinum warranty)
Fortrex 24V 80lb with Sonar
HDS5 with GPS at helm and Insight.
Elite 5 at bow.
Minn Kota 330D battery charger.
Minn Kota MK2 Alternator Battery charger (Charges the trolling motor batteries while the boat is running)
Power Pole 8FT Sportsman II with wireless remote.
Removable Passenger Console
Single axle trailer with aluminum wheels and matching spare and brakes.

Of course it still has the standard Phoenix features like Hotfoot, remote oil, auto bilge pump, 8 inch jack plate, custom cover, tilt hydraulic steering, etc etc.

The only thing I'll eventually add is a large graph with side scan. Probably Humminbird as they work better in shallow water. But that's down the road.

I'm getting really impatient waiting for it. I've watched the youtube video of the walk around probably 1000 times now.
