Nice weather greeted the teams for the take off from the Shawnee Bend Ramp, but the winds picked up later in the day -sometimes gusting to 30 MPH. three teams brought limits to the scales. First was the team of Kevin and Bryan Jackson from Monett. Kevin and Bryan were last months winners at Stockton. They weighed in 10.26 pounds of Bass that were caught on Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rogues. They fished the Gravois, Glaize, and Main lake areas. Next to the scales was the team of Arthur Brown and Barry Goen. They finished second to the Jacksons at Stockton, by less than half a pound. This time it appeared they would get revenge, as they weighed in 11.58 pounds. All their fish were caught on jerkbaits in shallow water around the dam and in the Gravois. The last limit weighed came from the team of Chris Jewett and Terry Allen, winners at here two year ago. Brown and Goen saw their hopes for victory snatched from them as they again lost by less than half a pound. Jewett and Allen weighed in 11.87 pounds. They also had a clean sweep, winning the first bonus bucks spot, Big Bass with a 5.03 pounder, and manhandling a 4.23 pound Drum to the boat to capture the "Junk Fish" pot. They took home $708.50 by catching their fish in the Grand Glaize area on jigs and tubes in 5 to 10' feet of water, except for the big fish, which was shallower. It was caught on a tube. The team of Randy Roustio and John Gamblin took second Big Bass honors with a 3.79 pound fish. Brown and Goen took second in the Bonus Bucks, receiving $37.50 and Jacksons took third, winning $25.00. Roustio and Gamblins second Big Bass paid $24.00.<O:p

A special thanks to Gilster Mary Lee Corporation for the HyVee Macaroni and cheese. They specialize in private brand food manufacturing and make the HyVee macaroni and cheese, among other products. As a connoisseur of Macaroni and Cheese, I can tell you this is the best I've tasted! Many of the fishermen agreed! Also thanks to Unilever in Jefferson City, Bass Pro Shops in Columbia, and Sunrise Bible Church. <O:p
