I have a 2009 Merc Optimax 115. After running a few minutes on plane above 4000 rpm the fuel flow reduces so much that it comes off plane and rpm's drop fast. I immediately back the throttle down to idle and it idles just fine. It also runs fine at a very low speed (almost idle). Noticed that when this happens the bulb is soft and out of gas. Pump it up and will run on plane just fine for a few minutes until the bulb empties again. Had the mechanical fuel pump rebuilt by a trained merc mechanic and replaced the fuel filter. But the problem didn't go away. Any help would be appreciated.
