My name is Mike, My wife and I own two small sporting goods stores in Monticello, MN near us is a lake called "Pelican Lake" in Wright County, Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Ducks Unlimited has teamed up to drain this lake to three or four small ponds that would not support fish. Right now this lake is a incredible lake for pan fish, Bass, Northern, and many more species. It also has hosted the N.A.I.F.C. "Ice Men" fishing circuit for the past two years and turn out has been great. It is the main bread winner for our store and other business's in town. It is also a migration point for White Pelican's, (hence the name) The worst part is that it has now been now listed in the DNR Fishing Regulations book as a Eurasin Mil-foil infested lake. The plans are to drain this lake into the Crow River, which in turn drains into the Mississippi River. So everyone south of us will be affected. Please point us in the right direction for help. It would be a shame for this lake to be drained.:(
