I am running a 76 Merc 1150 115HP Inline 6 Outboard on my boat. The Tachometer says I am doing 8000+ RPM but I know there is no way it’s even close to over revving. Even at half throttle when the motor is barely working it says I am doing 6500 RPM. So I suspect that my Tachometer is “out of synch.”
My question is how do I adjust the settings on it? I had a look at the back of it, and I suspect that is where I need to start, but I didn’t want to adjust anything without advise from people with experience.
Are there any specific tools I will need? Any information would be a big help! Thanks
