How many of you BBM'rs have known someone with a regular ol Bassboat (ie. non-Allison, Bullet, Norriscraft, etc. etc. type) try rigging a Mercury "Racing Motor" (200/225 Promax, 260/280) on their heavy ol Bassboat? I have known 2 personally and have read of many others. And NONE of them came out pleased. Despite warnings from others they made the switch thinking they were going to have the fastest boat in the club.....NOT! 
I New a guy here in Wichita with a 201D Cobra that had a 225 EFI Merc, got rid of it (despite my warnings) for a 225 Promax. What a PIG it turned out to be and he slowed way down compared to his regular ol 3.0L Bass motor. Propping it was impossible, and he ended up eating a lot of money (and crow).
