Here is a few pictures of the rig we use alot in Ohio. It is excellent when the crappie have moved shallow for spawning and throughout the year when they suspend as well. I use the smallest ice bobber I can get away with to hold up my 1/48 oz. Minnow Head from Bass Pro Shops and pictured here is one of my favorite baits.... a solid bodied Stinger made by Southern Pro.
Typical depth is 12" to 18" and often in deeper water up to 3'. It is important to throw the smallest bobber to detect the subtle bites that sometimes occur. Sometimes all you see is the bobber lay on its side, and if that happens..... set the hook!!! Hope this works for you all.... give it a try!!!
