The crappie spawn is occurring. The cool, rainy weather over the weekend slowed the bite temporarily, but sunshine and warm temps have moved the crappie back into the shallows. Water temps are currently in the mid to upper 60's. Farm ponds have been and continue to be very productive for bluegill and crappie. While these fish are running just below the legal length they are lots of them and they're hungry. Spend your fishing efforts during the sunny afternoons in the shallow bays and terraces around the islands where the water will be alittle warmer.
