Well boys... Did pretty well this Sunday. Out of 170 anglers, the final results showed us in 12th place. I thought we broke the top 10 but missed it by 2 ounces. Still very happy with our team results.
And now for the fish story.... Lesson learned from round 1. My net is never leaving my boat again. We both forgot our nets which i knew was gonna haunt us at some point in the tournament. So.... Big fish of the day, a 5 pounder nails my buddy's lure. I rush to lip the fish but he made the mistake of lifting it probably 6 inches out of the water. As i am reaching for his lip and am 1-2" away, he shakes his head one last time and manages to spit out the hook. Long story short. That bass would have culled our 2 pounder and added 3 pounds to our overall weight and would have gotten us a top 5 finish and a $600 check.
Those are the fishing stories that kill me but overall great day. We outfished a bunch of Lake Okeechobee locals and are off to a great start in KOTG 2018!!!!
